Njideka Wiggins

Greetings and thank you for viewing my profile. I’m Njideka (In-jah-day-ka) Wiggins, a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) located in Wilmington, Delaware Counseling is my second career, after 26 successful years in corporate America. I have been a practicing therapist, working with children, individuals and families for the past 16 years. I am a client centered therapist, meaning I believe each client comes to this process with an unique experience and way of being in the world. As such, I have a holistic approach to counseling, pulling from many theories and modalities, but predominately focused on integrating the best of psychodynamic theory (helping my client see and understand their patterns of emotions, thoughts and behaviors) with cognitive behavioral theory (solution-focused methods) and systems theory (how one exists in the larger world) to create lasting, characterlogical change. I enjoy working with clients that are seeking support to heal from unresolved trauma; mend family and other relational conflicts; manage depression, anxiety and ADHD challenges; navigate life/career cycle issues; overcome caregiver/compassion fatigue and grief. I recognize and respect the courage it takes to embark upon a journey to emotional wellness and I am humbled and honored to bear witness to your walk.
