Hello! Welcome and Thank You for reviewing my profile. My name is Alicia and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the great state of Michigan. I have over 30 years of experience working in the Mental Health/Human Service Field. I have lived and worked for 10 of those years in North Carolina, where I had the wonderful opportunity to work with many people from culturally diverse backgrounds. I have worked with infants, teen mothers, migrant workers, adults with cognitive impairments and mental illnesses, group homes, daycare facilities and state residential homes. I have real life experiences, training, knowledge and professional skills in the areas of Self Care, Life Changes, Self Esteem, Bariatric/Weight Loss, Stress, Relationship Issues, Sexual Issues, Domestic Abuse, Grief and Care Givers to Aging Parents. If you are dealing with any of these issues, then I am the Counselor for you. My Counseling style is laid back, relaxed and inviting. I love humor, but only when it’s appropriate. I utilize Person-Centered, Solution Focused and Holistic Therapies. This basically means you are the expert on you. We will work together on formulating a solution to the issues that lead you to seek counseling services. In doing so, I will ensure that your mind, body, spirit and emotions are all aligned. I understand that making the decision to seek help may have been a difficult one. I commend you on taking the first step to getting the support you need and deserve, in order to be healthy, happy and have a wonderful quality of life! I look forward to getting to know you and for you to know me, as we work to form a warm Therapeutic Relationship! I work full time (8am-5pm) Monday through Friday. My Betterhelp availability days are in the evenings for Live Chat and Phone sessions. My response time will be within 24 hours weekdays, usually I respond much sooner. On the weekends, I can usually respond within a couple hours. CURRENTLY I AM NOT AVAILBLE FOR VIDEO SESSIONS.
