Vermont Center for Independent Living

Founded in 1979, VCIL is the only Center for Independent Living in Vermont, serving all of the state. Their mission is to promote the dignity, independence, and civil rights of Vermonters with disabilities. They work to provide services for all disabilities, promote active citizenship, and support free-choice and full participation in community life. VCIL has a central office in Montpelier with five branch offices in Bennington, Brattleboro, Burlington, and Rutland. They are committed to creating a better understanding of the world of independent living and empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently and make decisions about their own lives.
