Vermont Center for Independent Living, or VCIL, is a nonprofit organization founded in 1979 that is directed and staffed by people with disabilities. We are the first organization in the state with a majority of board and staff with disabilities; currently 80% of our staff and 92% of our board are individuals with significant disabilities. Our central office is located in Montpelier, and we have five branch offices throughout Vermont, in Bennington, Brattleboro, Burlington, Morrisville and Rutland. Our mission is to provide resources, support and advocacy to individuals with disabilities so that they can live independently and fully participate in their communities. We understand the unique challenges faced by those with disabilities and are committed to helping them gain access to the services they need.
