Established in 1987, the Institute provides a university-based focus for the improvement of knowledge, policies, and practices related to the lives of people with disabilities and their families. They build local, state, and national capacities to respond to the needs of individuals with disabilities and their families through innovative and interdisciplinary research, academic, service, and dissemination initiatives. Their services include assistive technology, behavioral health and wellness, community living and employment, health and genetics, and inclusive early care and education. The Institute is based in Concord, NH, and serves individuals with disabilities and their families across the country.
