Therapeutic Recreation- Conejo Recreation and Park District

Established in 1962, the District serves nearly 140,000 Conejo Valley residents by maintaining over 50 parks and recreation facilities, offering thousands of classes each year, hosting dozens of community events, and caring for 15,000+ acres of open space and 140 miles of trails. They provide a variety of programs, including after-school activities, physical therapy, and social skills training, to cater to the diverse needs of their community. The District relies on a team of 91 full-time, 53 regular part-time, and approximately 325 part-time/seasonal employees, as well as over 1,000 volunteers each year, to deliver their services. Their annual operating budget for the general fund is $20,000,000, with approximately 70% coming from property taxes. The District is committed to improving the quality of life in their community and strives to be recognized as one of the top recreation and park districts in the nation.
