Therapeutic Recreation

Therapeutic Recreation, a department of the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, offers a variety of nature, wellness, and creativity programming for residents of all ages and interests. Their mission is to connect the people of their community through the power of nature, wellness, and creativity. They provide programs and activities that are fun, celebrate culture, and add to the quality of life. Therapeutic Recreation has grown from six parks to over 400 parks on 13,500+ acres, with 28 community centers, five athletic complexes, six golf courses, 230 miles of regional trails, six spraygrounds and interactive fountains, eight outdoor pools, and an indoor aquatics center. They also have 25 nature preserves, three reservoirs, five dog parks, a skate park, and a range of programs for toddlers to seniors. Their services include therapeutic recreation, which is essential to the overall well-being of their residents.
