The Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County has been providing equal access to justice to disadvantaged people for over 45 years. Our experienced staff of twelve attorneys, many of whom are bilingual, provided free civil legal services to more than 1,600 people last year. The KIC Project helps children with disabilities and their families with questions about SSI, the Golden Gate Regional Center, California Childrens Services, and special education. We also have a Client Rights Advocate to provide advocacy for persons with disabilities, focusing primarily on issues of eligibility, due process rights, and access to public services and benefits.
