The Arc of York and Adams Counties is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons with intellectual disabilities and their families in York and Adams Counties. Since its founding in 1952, The Arc has played a leading role in changing the way citizens with intellectual disabilities are perceived, supported, and empowered. The organization provides a wide range of services to its consumers and to the general public in order to fulfill its mission. Services include summer and year round recreational programs for children and adults; adult employment training and job placement; transition-from-school-to-work aimed at preparing high school students with disabilities to enter the working world upon graduation; agency with choice services that help families and clients adapt to the general community through habilitation and respite services; and community education about intellectual disabilities and intellectual disability prevention. The Arc of York and Adams Counties proudly serves all individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in both York and Adams Counties.
