The Arc of Oakland County

The Arc of Oakland County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that advocates for the rights and full participation of all children and adults with intellectual and other related developmental disabilities. They strive to improve systems of supports and services, connect families, inspire their community, and influence public policy. The Arc of Oakland County works through education, research, and advocacy to improve the quality of life for children and adults with cognitive, intellectual, and developmental disabilities in every community. They proudly serve individuals and families throughout Oakland County as a local affiliated chapter of The Arc Michigan and The Arc of the United States. Their mission is to improve systems of supports and services, connect families, inspire their community, and influence public policy to ensure that all individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities have the opportunity to achieve their full potential. They offer a range of services, including legal advocacy, governmental and financial benefits, education advocacy, community and information outreach, and referrals. They also provide resources and support to families and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including advocacy checklists, community legal resources, income tax guides, residential options, SSI resources, and more.
