The Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS) supports and serves infants, toddlers, and children with disabilities or developmental delays from birth to age 4. We are committed to helping families of children who are eligible for IDEA Part B services by offering them an additional option to consider as they help their children develop and prepare for school. Thanks to the Tennessee General Assembly’s approval of Governor Bill Lee’s budget in April, if the U.S. Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) approves this extension, families can choose to continue with TEIS services until their child’s 4th birthday and beyond. The Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is dedicated to providing the best possible care for children and their families.
