Staten Island Little League is dedicated to providing an adaptive baseball program for boys and girls with physical and developmental challenges. Our Challenger Division games are flexible and adaptable, with a rulebook that includes a best practices guide to operating a Challenger Division Game. At our games, all players have the opportunity to play defensively and bat every inning, and typically last 1-2 innings and about an hour. To truly capture the Little League experience, we encourage our Challenger Division to play on traditional or synthetic baseball or softball fields. We are also committed to spreading the word about being a Buddy, which is an individual who assists Challenger athletes in batting, base running and defense, but only as needed. Buddies are often peer athletes who are participating in the Little League Baseball or Softball program.
