Sponsored by the University of Northern Iowa, the project brings together children of all abilities, UNI students from diverse fields, and the community to co-create music, drama, dance, and art. The mission of the Spectrum Project is to expand arts access, celebrate creativity, and inspire more inclusive communities. The project serves children aged 5-21, with rehearsals taking place on Saturdays from 1:00-2:30 PM at Lincoln School in Cedar Falls. The cost for the entire project is $120, which includes a t-shirt, with scholarships available. The Spectrum Project is a unique approach to providing arts access and opportunities for children with differing abilities.
