Special Olympics Pennsylvania – Area P is dedicated to providing year-round training and competitive sports programs to children and adults with intellectual disabilities and closely related developmental disabilities in Susquehanna, Wayne, Pike, Lackawanna, and Wyoming County. Our program consists of over 11 sports and leadership programs across ~15 facilities and is designed for athletes aged 8 or older with intellectual disabilities, cognitive delays or closely related developmental disabilities. We also provide Young Athletes Programs (YAP) for preschool and early elementary age children with intellectual disabilities, which focuses on an introduction to sports rather than on training and competition in specific sports.
