Special Olympics Mississippi is a state organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities. They unite more than 7,000 athletes across 18 regions in a movement of inclusion, courage, and joy. Their mission is to provide opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and their communities.
