Special Olympics Michigan- Area 1 is dedicated to providing year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Our athletes have the opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and find joy in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship among their families, fellow athletes, and the community. With the support of caring volunteers, coaches, family members, and staff, our athletes are able to achieve their ambitions and dreams. Michigan citizens and businesses provide generous donations to fund the program, making it possible for us to bring our athletes’ dreams to life.
