They specialize in working with children and young adults with intellectual disabilities. Their mission is to provide opportunities for athletes to develop their skills, build confidence, and become active members of their communities. They offer year-round sports competition and training in 15 sports throughout the state, including programs for athletes with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Kentucky – Marshall/1 also provides free medical screenings for their athletes through their Healthy Athletes program and works to build stronger, more inclusive school communities through their Unified Champion Schools program.
