Special Olympics Hawaii is a global organization dedicated to empowering and inspiring individuals with intellectual disabilities. Since 1968, our organization has been working with hundreds of thousands of volunteers and coaches each year to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports. Our mission is to provide these individuals with the opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship. Through our organization, we hope to create a world where everyone is accepted and included, regardless of their ability. Our goal is to reach more people with intellectual disabilities, and with the help of our volunteers, we can make a lasting impact in our community.
