Special Olympics Alaska – Wrangell

Special Olympics Alaska – Wrangell is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing year-round sports training and athletic competition in various Olympic-type sports for people with intellectual disabilities. Our mission is to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities to become accepted and valued members of their communities through sports. We believe in the power of sports to bring people together and create a unified, inclusive and welcoming community. Through our efforts, we strive to create an environment of acceptance, respect and dignity for all participants. We provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports, including basketball, soccer, volleyball, and track and field. Our athletes have the opportunity to compete at local, regional, and state levels, and can even qualify for national and international competitions. We are committed to making the experience of Special Olympics accessible to all individuals with intellectual disabilities in Wrangell, Alaska.
