SAIL serves individuals with disabilities, their families, and communities in Macon, Moultrie, Shelby, Coles, Clark, and Cumberland counties. The organization's mission is to promote independent living for all people with disabilities by encouraging and assisting them in gaining effective control of their lives. SAIL provides a range of services, including advocacy, independent living skills development, information and referral, peer counseling, and transition services. The organization's staff and Board of Directors collaborate to provide a continuum of services for people with disabilities in the six-county service area. SAIL is funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Rehabilitation Services, and local fundraising projects.
