At South West Special Recreation Association (SWSRA), we are a special recreation cooperative comprised of Alsip Park District, Blue Island Park District, Hickory Hills Park District, Village of Merrionette Park, Midlothian Park District, Palos Heights Recreation Department, Posen Park District, and Worth Park District that was formed in 1981. Our mission is to provide year-round quality recreation programs and services for individuals with disabilities or special needs, designed to increase independence and enhance the quality of life for each individual. We offer programs for individuals from early childhood through adulthood, including those with varying degrees of physical or mental disabilities, learning disabilities, behavior disorders, attention deficit disorders, and hearing or visual impairments. Additionally, we may take photographs or video of participants for promoting/advertising our programs, services, events, activities, and facilities in our brochures, website or agency social media, and other promotional avenues with the participant (or parent/guardian of a minor participant) agreeing to the use and distribution by SWSRA of his or her image (or of his minor child/ward) in photographs, video recordings, and any other electronic reproductions of such programs, events and activities.
