Established in 1974, Society's Assets is a private, nonprofit organization offering Independent Living Services. The organization serves individuals of any age with a disability, including both visible and nonvisible disabilities, in the counties of Jefferson, Kenosha, Racine, Rock, and Walworth. Society's Assets provides five Independent Living (IL) Core Services, including Information and Referral, Independent Living Skills Training, Individual and Systems Advocacy, Peer Support, and Transitions. Additional services include Assistive Technology, Home and Vehicle Accessibility Assessments, Benefits Counseling, Home Care Services, and Representative Payee Services. The organization's mission is to ensure the rights of all persons with disabilities to live and function independently in the community of their choice, by supporting individuals' efforts to become integrated into community life.
