Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Riding (STAR) is a South Knoxville-based organization working with children and adults, from age four to seniors, with physical, mental, neurological disabilities, or those considered at-risk. We proudly serve individuals from Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Fentress, Knox, Loudon, Jefferson, Monroe, McMinn, Roane, and Sevier counties. Our mission is to foster personal achievement through therapeutic experiences using horse-related activities for persons with disabilities or special challenges. In 2019, STAR provided 16,780 hours of Equine Assisted Services to 245 individuals. We strive to provide quality care and support to our community, and we are proud to be making a difference.
