Their mission is to empower persons with disabilities to lead inclusive lives through advocacy, community engagement, and self-directed services. SIL provides an array of individual and community services designed to help and empower individuals of all ages and all disabilities lead healthy, productive lives and participate in community life as they choose. They envision a society that is accessible to all people and focus on providing individuals with disabilities access to crucial information and skills needed to facilitate and enhance their independence, and to remain in the community of their choice. SIL also advocates for the interests or cause of someone or a group of people, helping them find their voice and promoting their rights. Their services include information and referral, independent living skills training, peer support, individual and systems advocacy, transition support, and other services to improve the ability of individuals with disabilities to function independently in the family or community and/or to continue in employment. SIL is located at 800 Sharon Drive, Suite C, in Westlake, Ohio, and can be reached at (216) 731-1529. They serve individuals of all ages and disabilities in Northeast Ohio.
