About
The School for Children with Hidden Intelligence (SCHI) was founded in 1995 with the mission to ensure that every child is provided with the tools and support they need to discover their true potential. Located in Lakewood, NJ, SCHI is a world-renowned, cutting-edge therapeutic and educational center dedicated to fulfilling this mission. The school has helped over 700 severely-developmentally delayed, medically fragile, and socially-emotionally challenged children and young adults to reach their goals and let their talents flourish. SCHI is fully staffed by certified professionals, providing education and therapeutic services to children with disabilities such as autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, muscular dystrophy, Spina bifida, and cerebral palsy, among others. The school aims to arm students with the tools and confidence they need to tackle the challenges of everyday life, both in and outside of school. SCHI's unique approach includes specially curated classes, a high teacher-to-student ratio, and individualized educational programs designed to fit each student's distinctive learning style.
