Dr. Sandra Sexson is Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics and Chief as well as Training Director of the Division of Child, Adolescent, and Family Psychiatry at Augusta University. Dr. Sexson graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and received postgraduate training in Child Development, General Psychiatry, and Child Psychiatry. She has held positions as Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Training Director, and Officer in various organizations such as the American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Training, the Psychiatry RRC, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), the American College of Psychiatrist, and the Psychiatry in-training examination. Her research and clinical focus is on the emotional issues of children and adolescents with chronic medical illnesses. Dr. Sexson has been an active leader in psychiatric education in the United States for many years.
