Dr. Samantha Tavares, Psy.D., is a Hawaii-licensed clinical psychologist with 25+ years of experience providing psychological assessments and treatments for children, teens, adults, and families. As Clinical Supervisor for Alaka’i Na Keiki, she trains, supervises, and monitors services provided by the agency’s outpatient clinicians and intensive in-home therapists. She also sees Alaka’i Na Keiki youth and families for evaluations and outpatient therapy in the Honolulu office. Dr. Tavares’ experience includes working as a staff psychologist for Kaiser Permanente, Diamond Head Family Guidance Center (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division, Department of Health), and other contract psychologists on Oahu and Kauai. She specializes in helping those who have experienced physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, as well as their biological, adoptive, and foster families. Additionally, Dr. Tavares was a supervisor participant in the Hawaii TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) Learning Collaborative.
