She works with clients to address addiction, anxiety, depression, disordered eating, grief, self-esteem, and trauma. Rui's approach centers on fostering a safe and non-judgmental environment where clients feel empowered to explore and understand their complex emotions and behaviors. She integrates principles of mindfulness, self-compassion, and trauma-informed methodologies to facilitate transformative growth from within. Rui has completed various training programs, including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She is dedicated to assisting individuals facing a myriad of challenges, including anxiety, body image issues, depression, eating disorders, grief, low self-esteem, and trauma. Rui's personal mission is to create a safe space for each person who comes into her office, allowing them to feel safe to learn and become who they want to be. She is part of Mind and Strength Services, where she feels supported and lucky to be able to say that she loves her job. Rui's undergraduate degree is in Behavioral Science and Health from the University of Utah (2006), and she completed her Master's in Social Work in May 2023. She became a therapist because she has learned and grown so much since starting her own healing journey and wants to help others do the same.
