Established in 1961, the center was the first rural community mental health center in the United States and the first in Minnesota to provide services developed specifically for persons with serious and persistent mental illness. They provide mental health services to more than 2,500 adults, children, and families annually, covering a service area of over 6,800 square miles. With a workforce of about 150 people, Range Mental Health Center continues its 60+ years as a nonprofit organization, helping people reach and maintain productive and dignified lives.
