Portland Public Schools Head Start and Oregon Early Learning Head Start & Pre-Kindergarten Program provide high-quality early learning opportunities for children from low-income families. Our federal program promotes school readiness by enhancing cognitive, social and emotional development of young children in the Portland area. We model our Oregon Pre-Kindergarten (OPK) program after Head Start with the goal of expanding access to early learning opportunities for our lowest income and highest need preschoolers.
