Ohio Disability Rights Law and Policy Center, Inc.

is a nonprofit corporation with a mission of empowering people with disabilities to advance rights, access, and equity. Since October 2012, Disability Rights Ohio has served as Ohio's Protection and Advocacy (P&A) system and Client Assistance Program (CAP). It is governed by a Board of Directors, primarily consisting of people with disabilities and family members of people with disabilities. The organization's vision is to elevate voices, empower people, and achieve equity. Their values include justice and dignity, informed leadership, unwavering commitment, fierce advocacy, and access and opportunities. Disability Rights Ohio provides legal advocacy and rights protection to a wide range of people with disabilities, including assisting individuals with problems such as abuse, neglect, discrimination, access to assistive technology, special education, housing, employment, community integration, voting, and rights protection issues. They are also Ohio's Protection and Advocacy System for Individuals with Mental Illness (PAIMI), guided by the PAIMI Advisory Council.
