About Ogeechee Behavioral Health Services

Ogeechee Behavioral Health Services is a public provider of mental health, mental retardation, and substance abuse services located in Swainsboro, Georgia. We were established in 1994 under state law and serve six southeastern counties: Burke, Emanuel, Glascock, Jefferson, Jenkins, and Screven. Our service area is 3207 square miles and is sparsely populated with an average of 26 people per square mile. We are the last area in the state to receive community mental health services, officially established in 1976. Our goal is to provide quality mental health services to the citizens of these counties and beyond.
