Ms. Laura Marquez is a passionate and dedicated ally/accomplice who works to advocate with and amplify the voices and experiences of self-advocates and family members in the Disability Community. For the past 4 years, she has been working in multiple capacities in the non-profit sector, supporting and connecting children with disabilities and their families to resources. Her roots in advocacy began with her work as a direct support professional providing support and educational services to students with disabilities. She is currently the Developmental Disabilities Policy Fellow at the Paso del Norte Children’s Development Center, and is working on initiatives to increase civic participation amongst historically marginalized communities. Ms. Marquez holds a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Social Work, and is committed to informing policies that promote access, inclusion, and equity for people with disabilities.
