About
Founded by Ms. Carolyn Rowlett, the practice empowers parents to be their child's advocate. They provide expertise and resources to help navigate the often frustrating world of 504 Plans, Individualized Education Plans (IEP’s), and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Their goal is to make parents the advocate for their child. With a legal background and extensive training in dyslexia, Ms. Rowlett and her team offer a unique approach to helping families. They can assist with assessment results, IEP’s vs. 504 Plans, correspondence with the school, preparing for meetings, and more. By providing a free one-hour consultation and reviewing pertinent medical records or school documents, Dyslexia Advocates suggests ways for parents to obtain a federally mandated 'free appropriate public education' for their child.
