About
Sun Mountain Counseling, led by Mallory Jefferson, is a unique approach to therapy that focuses on the body, breath, imagination, and nervous system to understand the underlying causes of symptoms. Mallory, a licensed professional counselor, brings her own experiences as a neurodiverse person with ADHD to her practice, creating a safe and welcoming space for individuals with 'alternative' ways of thinking, sensing, or moving through life. Her approach honors the beauty and complexity of neurodiversity, and she works with clients to reconnect with and learn to trust their Self. Sessions can be intensive, lasting between 2.5 and 5 hours, or individual, generally 55 minutes, and are designed to support clients in integrating their full human experience—mind, body, and spirit. Mallory's work draws from evidence-based modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR, while also embracing creativity, mindfulness, and nature-based awareness. She acknowledges the historical and ongoing impact of colonization and displacement on the land and its original stewards, the Núuchiu (Ute) people, and other nations.
