Parasol, led by President Loretta Jay, is a consulting practice that specializes in strategic consulting for organizations that serve children, families, and specialized healthcare populations. Loretta Jay has over twenty-five years of experience working on behalf of children and families in both the private and public sectors. She has a deep knowledge of programs, organizations, communities, and educational systems, which informs her special education advocacy work. Loretta's consulting work has concentrated on designing and evaluating programs in areas such as special medical needs, behavioral health, autism, child abuse prevention, and parent education. She has an astute ability to nurture consensus and collaborations, and has built a network of 7 million people through her work with B Stigma-Free. Before founding Parasol in 2001, Loretta Jay worked at the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF) and held various leadership and Board positions in local, statewide, and national organizations. She is an active participant, contributor, and influencer in her local community, and has been involved in various initiatives such as the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Fairfield affiliate and the Fairfield, Connecticut Ethics Commission.
