About
With over a decade of experience in supporting individuals navigating illness, grief, and bereavement, Kristin works with clients ages 13 and up with life-limiting medical conditions, including cancer, cystic fibrosis, kidney or liver disease, cardiac conditions, muscular dystrophy, genetic disorders, and more. Her focus areas include adjustment to illness, grief and loss, end-of-life palliative and hospice care, and coping with prolonged hospitalization and/or changes in treatment. Kristin's approach to therapy is strengths-based and trauma-informed, and she considers it a privilege to be invited into her clients' stories. She is trained in various modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, play therapy, bibliotherapy, narrative therapy, and dignity therapy. As a clinician-scholar with expertise in thanatology, Kristin seeks to translate theory and current research into practical applications that allow her clients to better conceptualize their experiences with illness, end-of-life, and grief. She is available to work with clients virtually and can be reached directly at kristin@nchpsych.com.
