About
Kelly graduated with a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University and takes a person-centered, Feminist approach to counseling. She uses a child-centered, non-directive, and experiential approach as a play therapist, allowing children to express and process their emotions through play. Kelly's therapeutic interests include anxiety, depression, eating disorders, LGBTQIA+ identity, neurodiversity, grief, life transitions, attachment concerns, school adjustment issues, and various emotional and behavioral challenges. She has daytime openings for children ages 2+, teens, and parents. Kelly joined the Oak City team in September 2024 and is learning Child-Centered Play Therapy and Synergetic Play Therapy under the supervision of Sara Bagramian, LCSW, RPT-S.
