About
Kay McCarthy, an occupational therapist, helps children between the ages of two and eleven improve in various areas, including pencil grip, hand dominance, printing, balance and coordination, eye-hand skills, play/social skills, reflex development, visual perception, and integration of the sensory system. She has specialized training in hand skills, visual motor skills, and sensory integration, as well as certification in the assessment of sensory integration and praxis abilities. Kay works with children who have difficulty processing sensory information, small muscle skills, and large muscle skills, and those on the autism spectrum. She also collaborates with children who have IEPs, or Individual Educational Plans, to enhance their school-provided services. Kay's goal is to help children be confident and physically ready for school, believing that meaningful physical activities are the building blocks for academic achievement.
