Established in 1974, Kahumana has grown to 5 distinct campuses on over 50 acres, providing a diverse range of services and programs for the community. Their mission is to co-create a healthy, inclusive, and productive farm-based community with homeless families, people with disabilities, and youth. Kahumana offers a variety of programs, including a Learning Center for special needs, a Cafe, Food Hub, and Organic Farm that provides fresh local produce across the island of Oahu. They also provide housing and services for homeless families, a program for adults with developmental disabilities, and a summer feeding program called Kaukau 4 Keiki. The organization's approach is grounded in the values of mindfulness, empathy, aloha, and working together, and they strive to celebrate the bounty of Hawaii's natural and cultural environment while addressing some of its most pressing needs.
