About
Drawing from her background in early childhood education and deep understanding of emotional development, Julie brings both warmth and insight to her work with children, adolescents, and adults. She is especially dedicated to working with children and mothers, guiding them through emotional growth and healing. Before becoming a therapist, Julie taught kindergarten, where she witnessed firsthand how emotional well-being directly impacts a child’s ability to thrive. This experience sparked her commitment to walk alongside children, caregivers, and families in transformative ways. Julie earned her M.Ed. in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University, receiving dual training in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health. Her clinical focus includes anxiety, depression, body image concerns, addiction, grief and loss, family conflict, life transitions, and perinatal mental health. With children, she also specializes in ADHD, behavioral challenges, social skills development, and trauma. Taking a holistic approach, Julie emphasizes the important connection between emotional, physical, and mental well-being. She believes lasting change happens when all aspects of a person are honored and supported. Drawing from evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, she fosters a compassionate and curious therapeutic environment where healing is possible. Julie provides individual therapy and leads Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) groups, often collaborating with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to offer comprehensive, client-centered care.
