Dr. Joy Velarde is a Clinical Psychologist and Founder of Embark Psychological Services LLC in Las Vegas, specializing in working with Asian, Asian-American (AANHPI) issues and Christian counseling. As a Filipino-American, Dr. Velarde is passionate about advocating for the importance of mental health in the AANHPI communities. She fosters a safe and inclusive environment to help individuals navigate cultural identities and personal experiences, while promoting healing and growth through tailored therapeutic approaches. Dr. Velarde's approach to therapy is active and directive, providing compassion and empathy to each person she works with. She strives to help her clients build upon their strengths and find meaning in their lives, using a combination of Psychodynamic and Cognitive-Behavioral perspectives. Dr. Velarde currently offers in-person services to those in Las Vegas, NV or video sessions for those in NV, CA, or any of the 43 PsyPact enacted states. She primarily works with individuals dealing with grief, relationship issues, and women's issues, as well as those facing work-related stress, anxiety, and cultural challenges.

Dr. Velarde is an out-of-network provider and does not accept insurance at this time. Individual therapy sessions cost $250 per 50 minutes.
