He has extensive research experience and has published a number of important articles on diseases such as epilepsy, MS, neuromuscular disease such as ALS, and cancer. He is funded for his research programs by the National Institutes of Health, many private foundations, and local donors, and holds the prestigious John S Garvin Endowed Chair in Neurology.
