Independence Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community of individuals with disabilities, parents, families, friends, and local business people working together with a dedicated staff to provide services and support to adults and children with disabilities. Founded in 1966, the organization has been supporting more than 350 individuals and families in Midcoast and Central Maine. Their mission is to ensure the inclusion of people with disabilities in the community, and they celebrate ability by providing opportunities for full and inclusive lives.
