Heidi Barnwell, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), uses an integrative, person-centered therapy approach that draws from her training in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, The Gottman Method of Couples Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Trauma-informed interventions. With a focus on warmth, humor, and authenticity, Heidi creates a collaborative therapeutic-client relationship. She incorporates her experience in working with children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and elders from diverse backgrounds into her practice. Heidi's approach is influenced by her upbringing in Alaska and her training in Ecopsychology, which emphasizes the importance of nature in therapy. She is an ally to the LGBTQA+ community and values understanding issues from various cultural, socio-economic, ethnic, racial, and spiritual perspectives.
Insurance & payment
Heidi Barnwell Counseling is in-network with Aetna and BlueCross and BlueShield. Clients with other health insurance plans may be considered out-of-network, but Heidi can provide a superbill for them to submit their own claim to their insurance company.
