They operate year-round, offering various equine-assisted services, including Therapeutic Riding, Equine Assisted Learning, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, and Hippotherapy. Their staff is professionally licensed, certified, or trained for their various expertise to serve the community. Healing Strides of VA is the only Premier Accredited Center with the Professional Association of Therapeutic Riding Int’l (PATH) in the Roanoke Valley, with instructors holding PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, Advanced Riding Instructors, USHJA Certified Trainers, or instructors-in-training and all hold CPR/first aid certifications. They focus on equitation and correct use of the aids, emphasizing the horse first mentality and opening clear communication between horse and rider as they progress towards their goals.
