Founded in 1957, Harwood Center is a private nonprofit agency that provides education, therapy, and support for Mid-South families and children with developmental disabilities. We offer specialized education and therapeutic services for children aged 2 years to transition to kindergarten, with a diagnosed disability or experiencing delays in their development or behavior challenges. Our program is led by licensed special education teachers, board-certified behavior analysts, educational specialists, and behavior technicians. Our goal is to help children reach their full potential by learning functional skills to enhance their development, and our ongoing training and support provides families the tools to achieve this. Since opening its doors, Harwood Center has helped over 5,000 children get a better start in life. We offer our services primarily at our two preschool locations Hanley and our CUBS classroom at the University of Memphis, as well as at our clinic at the University of Memphis.
