The Georgia Department of Public Health, East Central Health District, and McDuffie County Health Department (Children 1st) work together to identify children at risk for poor health and/or developmental outcomes from birth to age 5. The goal is to link them to appropriate health, developmental, and family-support services. To ensure the best possible health for Georgia’s children, Children 1st works with public, private, and community resources by offering voluntary, no-cost, in-home visits to arrange help for families in need. Parents can withdraw at any time.
