Founded in 1951, they work with clients of all ages, introducing them to new activities and experiences, helping them gain a deeper understanding of themselves, and showing them new ways to communicate how they feel. Through the dedication of their highly-trained staff and the support of partners and collaborating organizations throughout Metro Detroit, FAR offers music, art, dance/movement, and recreational therapy for children and adults with a variety of diagnoses. They go into schools in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties to provide music, art, dance/movement, and recreational therapy for students receiving special education services. Their goal is to expose their clients to new avenues of expression, which serve to improve how they relate and interact with their environments and families. Enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities, regardless of age, through the power of creative arts and recreational therapies.
