Exceptional Children's Assistance Center is an organization dedicated to empowering North Carolina families and improving the lives of children with disabilities and/or special health care needs. They provide information, support, training, and resources to assist families caring for children with special needs from birth to age 26. They also support young adults with disabilities in becoming self-advocates and leaders and the educators and professionals who serve them. The center's services are provided at no cost to families. They have a team of experienced Parent Educators who are family members of individuals with special needs and are familiar with connecting to resources and support in North Carolina. These Parent Educators actively participate in community councils and advisory boards to provide a family perspective as plans and decisions are being made for their community.
